We kick off the day with performances by two of our featured poets, Les Wicks and Liz Winfield, followed by Kim Nielsen-Creeley and the ever-enigmatic Tasmanian Shakespeare Company, who will take us on a lively romp through Shakespeare’s poetry—complete with readings and songs—leading us right up to lunchtime.
Lunchtime entertainment gets moving—literally—thanks to the Launceston Tramway Museum! Hop aboard the Slam Tram, a ride through the Invermay precinct filled with humour and high-energy spoken word from local slam poets. It’s a hop-on, hop-off poetry party on rails—and yes, you’re welcome to join in!
The afternoon features readings from three more of our incredible featured poets: Kit Kelen, Alex McKeown, and Erin Coull, along with a showcase of outstanding local talent in our Spotlight Poets segment—including some recent poetry slam finalists you won’t want to miss.
