The Wards at Night Course 2026
Course at a Glance
This is an inter-professional one day simulation course for Monash Health ward based Associate Nurse Managers (ANMs) and HMOs undertaking night-cover rotations.
The course is specifically designed to equip ANMs and HMOs with a structured approach to the initial assessment and management of acutely unwell patients.
Participants will also have the opportunity to explore and practice various teamwork and communication skills that can enhance patient safety and assist with clinical decision making, task prioritisation and time utilisation during busy night shifts on the wards.

Monash Health Associate Nurse Managers (ANMs) working on the wards
**Nurses: Prior to booking please ensure that you have the support from your manager. If you intend to take study/professional development leave, this needs approval from your manager. If you do not attend your booked session, your manager will be informed.
Course Information
The course commences at 8am and conludes at 4pm.
To allow the course to run on time, registrants are asked to arrive 15 minutes prior to the course start time
Course Fees
Monash Health Staff : $0 . To secure your place, a $50 deposit is required. This helps to reduce non-attendance and ensures fair access to the course. A refund of the entrire fee minus the processing charges will be made once you attend your booked session.
Course Cancellations and Deferments:
- Course fees minus the admin fees will be refunded if the participant attends the course
- Cancellations made more than one month prior to the scheduled event: The deposit will be fully refunded.
- Cancellations made within one month of the scheduled event: The deposit is non-refundable, except in circumstances where an official statutory declaration or a valid medical certificate is provided.
- A refund will not be granted if a registrant fails to attend a course.
