About
King Canoe is a collaboration between eight stalwarts of the Melbourne reggae and soul music scene. With a focus on original instrumental reggae and taking influence from the 1960s Jamaican music scene and beyond, King Canoe brings a fresh sound to a classic genre.King Canoe’s members have recorded and performed with an enormous variety of acts including: The Cat Empire, Gotye, Tim Rogers, Midnight Oil, C.W. Stoneking, Paul Kelly, Emma Donovan, Maceo Parker, The Congos, Kutcha Edwards, Nai Palm, Archie Roach, Bombay Royale, The Meltdown and many more.
Since releasing their debut album ‘High Tide’, King Canoe have become a regular feature at Melbourne’s iconic music venues. A second studio album is due out early next year.
