About
Robert and Manuela met in New Zealand in 2020 and are now based in Western Australia. They play traditional music from Ireland and beyond on wooden flute and violin, and many of Robert's original compositions inspired by the south west of Western Australia. They are known for their unique tone, unison playing, harmonies and arrangements.Robert’s new composition Kiangardarup premiered in the Perth Concert Hall in May 2024, receiving a standing ovation. Robert has recently received many awards for his album Kiangardarup, including three silver medals at the Global Music Awards, a win in the InterContinental Music Awards and finalist in three categories in the Australian Folk Music Awards.
Together they will perform a one off concert in the wonderful acoustic of the Abbey Church in New Norcia, with lively jigs and reels, haunting slow airs, and the music of blind 17th century Irish harpist Turlough O’Carolan.
