Ever wondered how pure hydrosols and essential oils are made?Join this hand-crafted experience where you will learn and participate in the art of distilling plants and herbs with a a hand made Copper Alembic from Italy.

Join us to see this unique alchemical process of exquisite hydrosols and essential oils crafting.
Watch the magic unfolds as we distill using a handmade Copper Alembic hailing from Italy.
The morning or afternoon includes teas/hot drinks, herbal treats and special hydrosol drinks, fruits platters & healthy snacks to graze on.
The workshop :
This course will cover the various aspects to consider before distilling hydrosols and essential oils, witnessing the process from start to finish, including-but not limited to:
- Distilling plants, some important notions of botany, harvesting, preparation of the plant material.
- Presentation of the still, its use and components, manufacturing materials, in this case a Copper Alembic.
- Set up a workspace for the distillation process.
- Make a natural seal.
- Different aspects relating to the distillation of hydrosols and essential oils.
- Sterilization and preparation of the equipment.
- Handling of the plant material and loading of the still.
- Ecological and sustainable awareness around the use of essential oils.
- Head-body-mind check in.
-Temperatures - Sounds- water/pant material quantity/measurements- adjustment, etc.
- Fixing issues.
- The different distillation techniques for different types of plants /herbs/flowers.
- Influence of some distillation parameters-quality / composition of a hydrosol.
- Separation of the essential oil and the hydrosol.
- Conservation
- Bottling and labeling
- Analysis
- Evolution over time and lifespan of a hydrosol and possible uses.
You will go home with a 50ml yield obtained on the day,
Testing-tastings- herbal drinks included.
