Vika & Linda – Australia’s Most Loved Vocal Duo
They are back! After multiple sold out shows here a couple of years ago, we are beyond thrilled to have the dynamic and incredible Vika and Linda back here on our Island at Berninneit.
When Paul Kelly heard Vika & Linda sing, he said, “They make the air beat in sync.” That magic comes naturally to Melbourne’s Bull sisters, who have been harmonising since childhood, learning to sing in church under the guidance of their mother, Siniva, a proud Tongan woman who brought her love of music to Australia in 1959.
From those joyful beginnings to the world stage, Vika & Linda have carved out an extraordinary career. After six years and three classic albums with The Black Sorrows, they launched their own path with a double platinum debut in 1994. Since then, they’ve released eight studio albums, two live albums, and a chart-topping anthology, Akilotoa, which Paul Kelly called “a gift to the air.”
Their voices have graced number-one albums by Paul Kelly, Kasey Chambers, and John Farnham, and they’ve performed for icons including Nelson Mandela, the Dalai Lama, and the King of Tonga. Admired by peers and adored by fans, they’ve been nominated for six ARIA Awards and, in 2022, received the Medal of the Order of Australia for their service to the performing arts.
Kasey Chambers calls their sound “one of my favourite ever,” while Marlon Williams says, “The moment they come on stage, the temperature changes in the room.” From soulful harmonies to powerhouse performances, Vika & Linda embody endurance, generosity, and joy. As Paul Kelly sums up: “Their voices combined sound salty-sweet… two swallows swooping and spiralling in the air.”
More than three decades on, Vika & Linda remain Australia’s most loved vocal duo—an irresistible blend of soul, harmony, and heart.
