Seahorse Hotel Building Workshop
Join our workshop to help build a seahorse hotel, craft suitable "holdfasts" (attachment points) for the seahorses and learn more about the conservation of the endangered White's seahorse.
Seahorse hotels are an artificial structure, used to provide critically important habitat for the endangered White's seahorse. Made from reo mesh, the seahorse hotel is placed on the seafloor in areas where habitats have been lost or degraded. In a short time, the hotels become encrusted by marine organisms such as sponges, algae and barnacles.
This event is free, bookings are required and donations are greatly encouraged.
