Mayakeniny with Maatakitj
Mayakeniny means singing and dancing in Noongar language. Maatakitj (skinny-legs-like-spears) is the name of the song-maker and with Sidney Myer Award winning director Kylie Bracknell leads an ensemble of Noongar performers, immersing audiences in new songs and dances that embody the creatures and features of Western Australia’s southwest corner and southern coast, Noongar boodjar. Combining the old, new and everlasting, Mayakeniny with Maatakitj shares something unique, grounded and empowering.
