Kris Mizzi with Tin Town
About
“A deceptively gentle storyteller, his songs, like a good book, resonate deeper and deeper with every listen. Simply beautiful.” – Paul Samwell-Smith (Producer: Cat Stevens, Yardbirds, Carly Simon) With a voice that is both strong and tender, Melbourne singer-songwriter Kris Mizzi has earned his place among Australia's most captivating folk artists. A masterful storyteller, Mizzi crafts songs that linger long after the final note, weaving beauty, truth, and vulnerability into every line. His live performances are a kaleidoscope of emotions—joyful, uplifting, spiritual, comedic, and deeply moving. Winner of the 2017 Troubadour Award and the 2021 Folk Alliance 'Australian Solo Artist of the Year', Mizzi has become a standout voice in Australia’s folk music scene.
Poetic lyrics, meandering melodies and 'a voice which truly moves people', along with a unique picking style, Mizzi really is a complete artist and is becoming renowned for his intimate solo performances and thoughtful songs throughout Australia.
Tin Town is the new collaboration between seasoned Australian artists Courtney Robb and Snooks La Vie. As a wife-and-husband duo, they deliver grounded, folk-country melodies and unfiltered storytelling. Their songs feel vulnerable but intentional – the kind of music that doesn’t need to raise its voice to be heard. Robb’s textured vocals are arresting in their honesty, carrying the weight of the lyrics without overselling them. La Vie’s harmonica is a vital thread in the Tin Town sound - melancholic one minute, cutting the next - adding colour and character in all the right places. It gives their songs a sense of movement and mood that lingers long after the final note.
