About
This workshop is being presented by True Strength Counselling and hosted by psychologist, Taline Bardakjian. It is open to all members of the community.Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) is an evidence-based suicide intervention workshop developed by LivingWorks. It has been delivered globally for over 30 years and is supported by extensive research.
It’s a two-day, interactive training program that teaches participants how to:
* Recognise when someone may be having thoughts of suicide
* Provide a safe and open space for them to talk about what they’re experiencing
* Work together to create a safety plan that supports their immediate needs and connects them to further help
ASIST is designed for everyone who is passionate about creating communities safer from suicide— not just health professionals.
By the end of the workshop, participants leave with greater confidence in applying verbal suicide first aid, powerful, practical skills, and hope — knowing they can make a difference in creating suicide-safer communities.
