The unforgettable characters of Heathcliff and Cathy - forever running wild across the Yorkshire moors - were a true blast of cold north wind for contemporary readers. Savage and brutal, full of ghosts, cruelty, revenge and greed, the novel resists simple interpretations. What exactly was Emily Bronte trying to say? There are no easy answers, which makes it the perfect choice for a lively book club discussion!
