ABOUT THE WORKSHOP SERIES

The evidence base supporting how we learn Motivational Interviewing affirms that proficiency in MI requires ongoing practice, feedback and reflection. This live, online workshop series aims to support revision and extension of your developing Motivational Interviewing skill base.

Delivered over two, half-day sessions, the course is suitable for all health/counselling professionals working with clients’ health related behaviours who have attended comprehensive foundational MI training in the past. The workshop series revises the essential spirit and skills of MI and then offers extension exercises to deepen skills for working effectively with clients with low motivation to change.

The training format includes paired experientials, video & live demonstrations, real life scenarios delivered to an interactive small group up to 24 attendees. Attendees are supported to reflect on their work throughout the training, to integrate practical, applicable learning and affirm their unique developing skill base. The workshop embodies the ‘Spirit’ of MI by respecting the experience, ideas and learning autonomy of participants.

Registrants are required to commit to attending both days of learning in full via webcam.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION PLEASE READ BEFORE REGISTERING

Places are available for health professionals only. There are a maximum of 24 attendees per workshop.

It is a requirement of registration that attendees are able to fully commit to attending all four workshops. The sessions are not recorded for confidentiality reasons. You are respectfully asked to cancel all work commitments during the course and to delegate any 'on call' duties - just as you would when attending an 'in person' training. Coming in and out of the training to attend to work or family commitments is not permitted. Attendees are asked to ensure they have access to a secure and stable internet connection and a private space for their workshop attendance. It is not permitted to share a room or login with another participant. A webcam is essential and attendees are asked to attend with their webcam on for the entire workshop. Attendees are required to print a workbook for each block (supplied in PDF format) totalling approx 40 pages of double sided printing. You can use a write on device if you prefer. Please do not register if for any reason you are not able to agree to these terms.

The cancellation policy for this training event is as follows:

Refund of 80% of payment if you give more than 30 days notice.
Refund of 50% of payment if you give 14 or more days notice.
No refund will be given if you give less than 14 days notice.
Transfers of registrations to future trainings may be possible in extenuating circumstances where space permits in future trainings. TRANSFERS ARE NOT GUARANTEED.

Please note that this policy applies to ALL cancellations including those that are due to unexpected illness of the ticket holder or dependent children of the ticket holder. Requests for exceptions will be declined.

Practice Pavestones reserves the right to cancel the training program in the unlikely event that there be insufficient attendees by the close of registration date, sudden illness of trainer or any other unforeseen event preventing effective delivery of training. Refunds will be issued to all registered parties in these instances.
