In this immersive weekend retreat for fiction writers, author and educator Dr Kelly Gardiner will guide you through shaping your story and creating a compelling story world. In this supportive environment, you'll develop your mastery of essential writing tools and techniques, and deepen your understanding of the craft and connection to that story and many others.Each day features in-depth and practical craft masterclasses, writing exercises, activities, and discussion.
We will have our own writing time including shared writing sprints together, and you'll have time to sit quietly and scribble, read, think or daydream.
You’ll have the chance to read your work aloud at our evening fireside salon if you wish, and workshop an extract with a small group of fellow writers.
Details:
The 2027 retreat is a three night/three day retreat, on the King’s Birthday holiday weekend in June. It is an intensive fiction-focused retreat, fully catered and residential at Continental House, a heritage guesthouse in Hepburn Springs, Victoria. Every writer has their own room and bathroom, plus access to delights including the jacuzzi and sauna, beautiful gardens and bushland.
