Cathy Franzi is coming to Warrandyte following the Pottery Expo at Heide MOMA. Known nationally and internationally for her botanical imagery on ceramics she will be revealing her techniques at this very special workshop .
Learn to ‘draw’ onto the clay surface using textural imagery techniques including carving, sgraffito, incising, impressing, slip and ink inlay, stencils, water erosion relief, sponge stamping and slip trailing. In this comprehensive course you will learn each technique by practicing on slab tiles and explore mark making using various approaches to composition. Suitable for beginners with an interest in the materiality of clay and those more experienced who will extend their skills.
Tiles for decoration will be provided. Tools available. Bring apron and notebook. Coffee available from 9.30am.
