Paint with Confidence: Acrylic Painting for Beginners
About
We are excited to introduce Deborah Burton for her one-day workshop and invite you to discover the joys of painting with acrylic.As a practising artist with a passion for helping others to explore their creativity, Deb had designed her workshops to be welcoming, enjoyable and accessible to those with little or no prior painting experience.
This workshop will guide you through foundational acrylic techniques in a supportive environment, allowing you to build confidence and to leave with a variety of completed art pieces that you’ll be proud to take home.
Materials Required:
Acrylic Paints - a basic set of primary colours (red, blue, yellow), plus green, purple, brown, black and white. A selection of favourite colours could also enhance your creativity.
Paintbrushes - a variety of sizes and shapes, including flat, round, and detail brushes.
Canvases- at least two 40cmx30cm.
Palette - plastic lids, glass or disposable paper for mixing colours.
Palette knife and moulding paste for adding texture.
Water Container - a plastic yoghurt container will be fine.
Cotton buds, Paper Towels or cloth rags, for wiping brushes and cleaning up.
Old sheet to protect desk.
Pencil and Eraser for sketching outlines before painting.
Apron or Old Clothes to protect from paint splashes.
I will supply table easels, though you are welcome to bring one if you already have one.

If you would like to use Deborah’s materials (including two small canvases) you are welcome to for an additional fee of $40 cash on the day. Please advise in advance.
