ABOUT THE BOOK
The third thrilling Kalgoorlie-set rural crime novel from the bestselling author of The Prospect and The Missing.
At five, Molly Walker was placed in witness protection after seeing her birth mother Sammi's murder. Twenty years later, everyone assumes the threat has passed. Then Molly's adoptive parents are killed in a car accident, on the same day the police commissioner announces the re-investigation of Constable Sammi Walker's murder. Coincidence or something more sinister? Detective Jack Higgins doesn't believe in coincidences. And as he looks into the accident, it becomes clear that this was a deliberate act. But is Molly still in danger, so long after the original crime?
Set against the backdrop of the blood-red soil of Kalgoorlie, long-buried lies continue to surface, while someone is becoming increasingly desperate to keep them hidden.
