Stagecraft Seminars 2026
About
Stagecraft Seminars 2026 (10 - 17 years)ELT are thrilled to bring Stagecraft Seminars back for a second year! Over 10 weeks our
community experts will teach young people about all of the areas involved in putting on a show!
From directing to acting, lighting to props, set to stage management. Sessions include practical
education, learning from our experts, and putting new skills into action as they rehearse and
stage their own show.
This year’s content will be different from 2025, so we invite our 2025 thespians to return.
Sessions will take place from February 9th to April 27th, with 2 weeks break for school holidays.
Mondays 6:30-8:30pm at the Eltham Performing Arts Centre (ELT’s home theatre).
The sessions in 2026 are:
- Week 1: Start out Strong: Picking the right plays, team and auditions (for directors and
actors!)
- Week 2: Improv & Accents: Yes and... now Irish.
- Week 3: Set: Bringing your vision to life
- Week 4: Props: Making something from nothing
- Week 5: Costumes: Dress for the part!
- Week 6: Lighting: Your moment behind the spotlight
- Week 7: Sound: Can you hear that?
- Week 8: Stage Management: Keeping it organised
- Week 9: Tech Run: Bringing all the pieces together
- Week 10: Performance: Show Time!
The 2026 program is $200 per student up front and non-refundable after the conclusion of week
2’s session. The final session of the year, April 27th, will be the performance of the students’
shows. We invite parents, friends and relatives to come and watch the showcase from 7:00pm.
Please note all participants must become current financial members of ELT.
