Slowness: Willebrant | Clariloops
Sink into an evening of immersive ambient sound.
Settle in with a drink from the bar, bring your crafts, or wear an eye mask—however you choose to experience it, this is your invitation to float away. Two distinct sonic journeys will wash over you, blending electronic textures with organic instrumentation to create a sanctuary of sound. Let the music guide you into stillness. Come as you are. Stay as long as you need.
The first half of the show will feature electronic artist and bass guitarist Willebrant. Following an interval, clarinet-driven electronic artist Clariloops will close the hour.
ABOUT WILLEBRANT
Willebrant is the ambient field-drone project of Naarm/Melbourne–based bassist and producer Karl Willebrant. Working with bass guitar, found instruments, synthesisers, and field recordings, Willebrant creates immersive textures and emotive expanses that invite the listener to form vivid visual narratives through sound. In 2020, Willebrant retreated to the home studio to fully explore his long-standing relationship with ambient music, resulting in a prolific body of releases and collaborations with artists from Europe, the United States, India, and Australia with local artists such as Black Light Ghost, IKSRE, jazz trumpeter Paul Williamson, James Hullick's Bolt Ensemble and contemporary/classical guitarist Ken Murray.
ABOUT CLARILOOPS
Under the moniker Clariloops, Ruby Ester Mae weaves clarinet melodies into layered electronic atmospheres. Drawing on a foundation in classical music and a deep passion for ambient electronica, Ruby uses clarinet, effects pedals, and synthesizers to create meditative sonic journeys that invite deep listening and introspection. What began as a personal experiment in 2020 has grown into a project that has found listeners around the world. In 2025, Ruby opened for Ichiko Aoba at Forum Theatre, a milestone that speaks to the resonance of her work. With five self-released titles and collaborations alongside IKSRE, Six Missing, and Garreth Brooke, Clariloops continues to explore compositions that are tranquil yet dynamic, balancing improvisation with careful structure.
TICKETS $22
Online sales close at 7:30pm on the day of the concert. Tickets can be purchased at the door, dependent on availability. Tempo Rubato is a cashless venue.
