About

Join us for three dynamic and inspiring sessions for PayPal Fashion Festival. We spotlight incredible First Nations creatives, Josh Deane and Tahnee Edwards, who are shaping the future of art, design and fashion.

Each event requires a booking.

EVENT 1 - Fashion Panel with Josh Deane and Tahnee Edwards.

narrm ngarrgu Library plays host to an inspiring Fashion Panel as part of the PayPal Fashion Festival 2026. Join Josh Dean and Tahnee Edwards, two First Nations creatives, for this dynamic discussion on culture, creativity, and the power of fashion as a platform for storytelling.

Josh Deane, an emerging Palawa (trawlwoolway) artist and designer based in Naarm/Melbourne, brings bold, narrative-rich works to life through painting, murals, and textile design. His practice explores cultural heritage, identity, and resilience, bridging tradition and contemporary expression.

Tahnee Edwards, a proud Yorta Yorta and Taungurung woman, is the founder of Gammin Threads, a fashion brand blending streetwear with First Nations storytelling. Through her designs, Tahnee champions representation and pride, creating garments that spark conversation and celebrate identity.

Tuesday 17 February, 6pm to 8pm

EVENT 2 - Upcycling Workshop with Josh Deane

Give your wardrobe a sustainable and artistic refresh at this exclusive Upcycling Workshop, led by award-winning artist and designer Josh Deane. As part of the PayPal Fashion Festival at narrm ngarrgu Library, this hands-on experience invites participants to transform pre-loved garments into bespoke, wearable art.

Josh will provide premium paints and inks and guide attendees through the creative process—from conceptual design to mastering techniques for applying colour to various fabrics. This workshop is more than a fashion activity; it’s a celebration of sustainability, individuality, and artistic expression.

What to Bring:

Participants should bring their own organic clothing items, such as:
• Cotton or linen shirts
• Denim jackets or jeans
• Leather jackets (synthetic leather welcome)

Wednesday 18 February, 5.30pm to 7.30pm

EVENT 3 - Gammin Threads Creative Workshop

narrm ngarrgu Library and PayPal Fashion Festival is excited to partner with Tahnee Edwards, a proud Yorta Yorta and Taungurung woman, designer, and founder of Gammin Threads, for a unique fashion experience during PayPal Fashion Week.

Gammin Threads is more than a clothing brand—it’s a celebration of culture, pride, and empowerment. Known for its bold colours, cheeky “IYKYK” humour, and messages that speak to issues impacting Aboriginal communities, Gammin Threads brings a fresh perspective to contemporary fashion.

The Workshop Experience

Participants will have the opportunity to design and take home a custom tee or tote, featuring exclusive Gammin Threads artwork and premium materials. Each session is carefully curated—from creating tailored designs to bringing professional heat press equipment—ensuring a seamless, interactive, and inspiring experience.
