The Kunanyi Folk Club is proud to present a double bill of Velvet Sledgehammer and The Rolling Waves on the 7th of February as our first feature artists for 2026. As always, several floorspots will open the evening.Velvet voices...hardcore folk! After a five-year hiatus, inter-generational trio Velvet Sledgehammer are reuniting this summer to bring their powerfully mellifluous vocal blend back to Tasmania.
The minstrelsy of The Rolling Waves creates a toe-tapping, melodically inspiring, and welcoming experience of jigs, reels, and ballads brought to life with subtle expertise and homespun care.
These two trios will be joining forces for a collaborative concert at Kunanyi Folk Club, showcasing delicious vocal harmonies, instrumental dexterity, and an impressive breadth of musical knowledge. Come and share in the joy, sorrow, laughter, anger, and love felt through their songs and tunes…and be ready to sing along with more than a few choruses!
