Hosted by Minister for Multiculturalism Steven Kamper MP and His Excellency Vasyl Myroshnychenko, the Ukrainian Embassy in Australia in partnership with the Ukrainian Council of NSW invites you to join them at the NSW Parliament for an exclusive screening of the Ukrainian film 'Animals in War' (Trailer at https://youtu.be/k2M7t9PZ9z0).

Animals in War is a poignant anthology film inspired by true stories of animals affected by the war in Ukraine. A collaboration between Ukrainian and international artists — including actor and activist Sean Penn — the film serves as a haunting and deeply moving call for global awareness and empathy.

Featuring a white rabbit, a wolf, a cow and other animals as central figures of each story, the film sheds light on the humanitarian and ecological catastrophe caused by war, portraying it through the perspective of animals who are powerless against its consequences.

The film offers a unique and deeply human perspective, highlighting the suffering of animals that depend entirely on humans for protection, and in doing so, speaks strongly to Australian values of compassion, responsibility, and respect for life.

Animals in War is a compelling work that highlights the widespread devastation wrought by russia’s barbaric and brutal invasion and issues an urgent plea for compassion, reflection and action.

Subject to travel requirements, the screening will be opened by a member of the film's production team, who can provide insights into its creation.

Proceeds from ticket sales will go to support our brave Ukrainian defenders.
