Talkin' the Drum in collaboration with Rise Drumming presents:African Drumming Workshop with Elliott Orr.
Returning to Canberra to share his love for African drumming, Elliott will be facilitating a workshop full of energy and joy, in Kingston, with the support of Yvette Molan from Rise Drumming.
Elliott is a gifted and enigmatic teacher, capable of teaching to all levels within the one workshop format. Beginners through to experienced drummers will be taught according to their level - be ready to be a part of making some very cool music!

Drum hire: $6
3.45 - 4.45 pm - workshop extension. For intermediate and advanced attendees there will be an extra, optional, hour of power, for those ready to learn a complex part or perhaps a solo phrase.

Elliott is one of Australia's most experienced and popular teachers of African rhythm. With full respect to the traditional owners of the music, the Malinke people of Africa, Elliott will talk about the history of the djembe as well as the complexities and techniques of playing it.
He leads the African rhythm ensemble, Spankinhide, and performs regularly with Bobby Alu, Mood Swing and Chevy Bass, Ganga Giri and the Palm Wine Ambassadors, among others.
