Sideways Social Outing – National Portrait Gallery
About
This is a gentle, low-pressure visit to the National Portrait Gallery for neurodivergent adults who want to experience galleries with others, without having to do it alone. There is no tour, no expectation to discuss art, and no pressure to keep up.
We’ll meet, go over how the outing works, then wander quietly at our own pace. You’re welcome to look closely, skim lightly, sit, take breaks, or leave early — all of that is okay.
This outing is scheduled between exhibitions to reduce crowds and sensory load.
Accessibility & sensory notes:
– Daytime visit
– Quiet galleries
– No flashing lights or amplified sound
– Accessible building
– Headphones welcome
– You can step outside at any time
Facilitated by Ziggy from Sideways Social.
This outing is suitable for people who prefer quiet environments and gentle social contact.
