About
Historic Date Palm Hill Homestead will be the venue for a presentation on the significant migration heritage story of the “The Trek” party, a group of German and Wendish (Sorbian) families who established Walla Walla in the late 1860s.
The story of the loss of culture and identity that was forced upon them, including the internment of 4 local men as enemy aliens during World War I, will be a featured in the presentation.
The presentation will be followed by a guided tour of the Homestead, with some of our Wendish (Sorbian) collection on display. Afternoon tea will be served on the deck. Enjoy the lovely view from this location or sit in the front garden.
