In 1905 Thistle Anderson lobbed a grenade at conservative Adelaide society with her book ‘Arcadian Adelaide’. She condemned the smugness, hypocrisy and inferior wine among many evils rife in the ‘village’. But who was this fiercely outspoken woman? In this entertaining new play Maureen Sherlock dives into Thistle’s life and the uproar she created.
