Join Cook Shire Mayor, Cr Robyn Holmes and Council’s Executive Leadership Team for community updates and budget conversations on Thursday 19 February 2026, featuring Special Guest Matt Smith MP, Federal Member for Leichhardt.With increasing costs affecting households and Council alike, this year’s budget conversation is focused on transparency, understanding the pressures facing our Shire, and hearing directly from the community about service experiences and expectations.
On the night you will:
* Hear key updates from Council leaders and Matt Smith MP
* Join the panel discussion and Community Q&A
* Visit Council information stalls (Finance, Infrastructure, Planning and more)
* Share your feedback on service “pressure points” and budget priorities for 2026–27
We are trialling a more open and interactive format this year to encourage genuine conversations.
Whether you have questions about rates, services, projects or future plans, this is your opportunity to be "in the room", stay informed, and be part of the discussion.
Canapés will be provided.
We encourage all residents, ratepayers and business owners to attend and stay connected to what’s happening in Cook Shire.
This is a free event, but bookings are essential.
