Sew and Tell - Slow Stitch Boro Bookmarks
About
Welcome to our "Sew and Tell" event series, where sewing skills and cultural stories go hand-in-hand!Stitching can not only be a craft hobby, or a way to mend old clothes. It can also be an artistic practice that promotes mindfulness, allowing us to slow down in a busy world.
Join us in the CoGLAB at Amherst Village Library on Friday the 20th of March, for Slow Stitch Boro Bookmarks with Monique Mulligan.
In this 2-hour workshop, attendees will learn about Boro stitching, a traditional Japanese sustainable mending technique, often used to repair worn clothing. Using boro, participants will create a patchwork bookmark to take home with them.
Adults only. Bookings are essential, and open to the public from the 6th of March. Spaces are limited to 10 people, so be quick to grab your spot!
