Culture and Law Moot
About
The annual Culture and Law Moot returns for the third year at the Banco Court. The moot brings together lawyers of all backgrounds to participate, network and for the mooters to have an opportunity to appear before esteemed judges. This year's mooting topic is "Gen AI will improve access to justice for culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) litigants and lawyers more effectively than conventional dispute resolution processes". The judges overseeing the moot are their Honours Chief Justice Helen Bowskill, Justice Darryl Rangiah and Chief Magistrate Judge Janelle Brassington.
"The benefits of taking part are the opportunities to meet someone new, someone from a different perspective to you, someone from a different culture to you, and to feel that you can belong and and have a place in this profession in your uniqueness but also our collective duty to justice and to the law." - Olamide Kowalik, co-organiser and co-sponsor.
