This is a Guided Tour of a fascinating Museum. It houses collections of antiquities from Egypt, Greece, Roman Times, the Middle East, China & more.
The tour will take 1 hour, and you will have time to explore afterwards if you so desire.
For a curated tour a minimum number of 15 is required. If we don’t get 15 participants, then we explore the museum by ourselves.
How do I get to Chau Chak Museum, University of Sydney by public transport?
You will catch a train from your preferred railway station and get out at central. For example, if you catch the train from Kogarah, you will need to take the 9am train, so arrive at Kogarah approx. 8:45am.
After getting off at Central walk along Devonshire Street Tunnel to Railway Square (between George Street and Lee Street). The bus stops along George Street have most buses going up Parramatta Road.
“There are several bus stops along Parramatta Road and City Road that can be used to visit the University.
The nearest bus stop to the museum is on Parramatta Road. Catch routes 412, 413, 436, 438, 439, 440, 461, 480, 483 or Metrobus M10 and alight at the Footbridge stop (or if the bus stops at University of Sydney Main Gate which is closer to the museum, it is the stop after Victoria Park).
Cost: is $18.50 per head to be paid on the day at the Museum shop for the curated tour
Lunch is at your own expense. A licensed café is located on the second level serving brunch, lunch and snacks with views over Victoria Park.
