If you have ever wanted to draw a portrait using traditional methods - without grids or tracing - this workshop is for you. In this fully guided session, Cindy MacDonald will introduce the materials, methods and techniques she uses to draw a simple, realistic charcoal portrait from scratch. The workshop covers the Andrew Loomis approach , along with core concepts such as measuring, facial features, large and small shapes, value, edge, one and shading. With step-by-step tuition throughout, even those new to charcoal will be supported to achieve a strong likeness. Some prior drawing experience wi recommend. Class size is small for optimum support.Date
