Winner of the Audience Award at the 2025 Venice Film Festival and Morocco’s official submission for the 2026 Academy Awards (Best International Feature Film). A sun-drenched portrait of aging brimming with nostalgia, humour, and hope, Calle Málaga (Malaga Street) is a love letter to Tangier and the women who age with heart.
From filmmaker Maryam Touzani (The Blue Caftan, Adam), Calle Málaga stars the legendary Carmen Maura (Volver, Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown) as María Ángeles, a spirited 79-year-old Spaniard who has spent her life in Tangier’s Spanish quarter. Her world is upended when her daughter returns from Madrid determined to sell the family apartment. To protect her home and the memories it holds, María fights back and, unexpectedly, rediscovers love and sensuality.
