But RoboCop isn't just a slab of steel and circuitry. As memories of his former life begin to surface, Murphy must confront the corporation that created him and the violent criminals that destroyed him, including Clarence Boddicker (Kurtwood Smith, gloriously unhinged).
Equal parts action spectacle, biting satire, and ultra-violent dark comedy, RoboCop remains one of the sharpest and most subversive blockbusters of the 1980s.
Beneath the explosions and quotable one-liners lies a savage critique of corporate greed, media sensationalism, and the commodification of public services, themes that feel eerily relevant today.
