Backstreet Dance are excited to enter the 2026 Cairns Festival Grand Parade as STREET PERFORMERS!!!We have entered the Festival over 10 times now and our mission is the same:
To continue to WOW all of Cairns with our buzzing beaming energy we are so well known for!!
WHO CAN APPLY:
- Currently enrolled students in Term 3 2026
- Any student who is enrolled in a Preteen, Teen or Adult class
WHEN TO APPLY:
Before Tuesday 25th August 2026 at 9pm
WHEN IS THE ACTUAL PARADE:
Saturday 29th August 2026
The Parade starts at 5.30pm (meet Deb by 5pm on the day)
Meet at Fogarty Park near the Pier Car Park under the big tree/toilet block.
WHEN IS THE STUDIO REHEARSAL:
Upon submitting this form, please be aware that it is compulsory to attend a full dress rehearsal at the studio (including approving of your full costume/outfit) and an important Parent Briefing for the Preteen Students.
Studio Rehearsal Dates:
- Teen & Adult Students: Thursday 27th August at 7pm (finishes at 8.30pm)
- Preteen & Teen Students: Friday 28th August at 6.45pm (finishes at 8.30pm)

WHAT ARE THE COSTUME REQUIREMENTS:
Create a Zombie outfit and face makeup.
DO PARENTS NEED TO ATTEND A BRIEF:
Parents of Preteens are required to attend the first 15mins of the rehearsal for a compulsory brief.
COST:
$33 covers for extra insurances, safety checks, studio rehearsal time.
NOTE TO ALL: Bring a filming device eg. phone/ipad so you can practice the choreo after your rehearsal.
