About
We are delivering stage one of Melbourne Airport Rail, by transforming Sunshine Station into a new superhub and putting it at the heart of major rail upgrades in Melbourne's west. Community consultation is now open to help shape the project’s design.The more than $4 billion joint investment by the Australian and Victorian governments will involve a major rail upgrade spanning more than six kilometres from West Footscray to Albion. We’ll add two new platforms at Sunshine Station to unlock extra capacity for a rail line to the airport and enable electrification of the rail line to Melton. We are building new and accessible stations at Footscray and Albion.
