Do you have a creative teen, or know one who might like to learn how to embellish their jeans or denim jacket?Join Cactus Revival’s Kate Fenby for a visible mending and embellishment workshop!
In this workshop your teen will learn how to turn their favourite denim garment into a one-of-a-kind piece!
This workshop is perfect for absolute beginners who have never picked up a needle and thread before. Your teen will learn basic hand sewing skills such as whip stitch and back stitch, plus an introduction to the Japanese Sashiko stitching.
No sewing machines are used, so your teen can easily apply their new skills at home with just a needle and thread.
Your teen will experience the feel-good feelings that come from hand stitching, with the calming and repetitive movements of hand sewing being proven to reduce stress and anxiety and promote well-being. Teens derive a great deal of satisfaction and confidence from learning new skills and applying them creatively. This workshop ticks all the boxes - screen free, new skills, feel good feelings.
All materials supplied, simply BYO denim item ready for embellishment.
