Know Your Award 2026

hero

How well do you understand the Architects Award and other employment awards that may apply in your practice? What changes are on the horizon?

Join us on 18 March for an informative CPD webinar with Tom Earls from Fair Work Lawyers, designed to help architectural practices better understand their obligations under the relevant awards and stay up to date with key industrial relations developments.

The ACA continues to represent architectural employers on industrial relations matters and support practices to operate as fair and ethical employers. A critical part of this role is helping members understand the Awards system and keeping practices informed about changes to industrial relations legislation.

In this webinar, Tom will unpack the key issues employers need to know.

  • Coverage – Understanding when the Architects Award applies and which other awards may also apply to your practice
  • Classifications – Understanding how classifications apply in light of changes to registration pathways
  • Changes – Keep up to date with changes to the Award and potential future developments
  • Casuals – Understanding recent reforms affecting casual engagements
  • Compliance – Protecting your business through compliance and understanding the strengthened enforcement regime, including large civil penalties for wage theft

During this time, he has been at the cutting-edge of workplace relations matters, spanning industrial action, enterprise agreements, unfair and unlawful dismissals, making, varying and interpreting awards, right of entry, transfer of business, or any of the myriad of other matters that comprise the field of workplace relations, often in an intense industrial environment.

Fair Work Lawyers is engaged by the ACA for advice in IR matters and is part of the members ACA Advisory Service.
