International Organist Series: Martin Setchell
About
Martin Setchell is an international concert organist known for his spirited playing and entertaining repertoire. Born in the UK, Setchell emigrated to New Zealand and taught for forty years at the University of Canterbury School of Music.Since 1997, Setchell has been curator of the pipe organ in Christchurch Town Hall and is dedicated to promoting its status as an international concert instrument. In 2008, he was honoured by the City of Christchurch with a Civic Award for services to music in the community.
