OHTA CONFERENCE 2026 - New Zealand, Sunday 27 September - Friday 2 October
About
Welcome to the 2026 OHTA New Zealand Conference!
Discover the rich heritage of New Zealand’s historic pipe organs on a journey through Te Ika-a-Māui, the North Island. From grand cathedrals to regional treasures, hear and play instruments of exceptional character while connecting with the musicians and stories that bring them to life.
Beginning with a cathedral service in Auckland, the conference travels south via Cambridge to Rotorua, including a visit to Whakarewarewa Living Māori Village and the culture of the Tūhourangi Ngāti Wāhiao people.
In Napier, hear the St John’s Anglican Cathedral organ—likely for the final time before major changes to the building. The journey continues through Woodville and Masterton, across the Remutaka Range, before concluding in Wellington.
There, delegates will be among the first to play the newly restored Wellington Town Hall organ, part of a landmark strengthening and upgrading of this historic venue.
Set against some of New Zealand’s most striking landscapes, this is a week of music, place, and connection—an invitation to experience a living legacy.
Featuring historic instruments by Norman & Beard, Croft, Lawton & Osborne, Hill & Son, and more.
Conference programme accurate at time of printing and subject to change.
A Full Conference itinerary will be provided to all attendees two weeks before commencement.
The Conference starts with Registration at 9am on Sunday 27 September in Holy Trinity Anglican Cathedral, Auckland, 10 minutes walk from The Parnell Hotel. It ends at 4:45pm on Friday 2 October in Wellington Town Hall, 2 minutes walk from West Plaza Hotel.
