BOUDEWIJN KEENAN CELLO
About
Boudewijn Keenan is a second-year cellist at the Australian National Academy of Music (ANAM), studying with resident faculty cellist and head of strings, Howard Penny. Hailing from Dunedin in the beautiful South Island of New Zealand, Boudewijn completed his undergraduate study in performance cello at the University of Otago under the eminent Dr Heleen du Plessis, before moving up to Auckland to undertake his Honours degree with James Tennant. The move to Melbourne came the following year, and ANAM has been a hugely rewarding experience for him so far. Highlights last year included performing in a quintet with other ANAM musicians at the Sydney Opera House, and forming his current string quartet, Fiasco Quartet, in the middle of last year. Boudewijn is also a casual player with the Auckland Philharmonic and Orchestra Victoria here in Melbourne. He is excited to share this wonderful program today of Bach, Hindemith and Elgar.Doors open for refreshments 11.45 am. Tea/coffee and biscuits provided - BYO sandwiches
