About the presenters

Ian Raspin is Managing Director of BNR Partners and has specialised in deceased estate taxation since 2000. Beginning his career in Tasmania in SME-focused public practice, he joined BNR Partners in 1998. He is widely recognised nationally and internationally for expertise in estate taxation, as a published author and frequent presenter to legal and accounting audiences. Ian delivers in-house training and consults with firms, regulators and professional bodies. He received the global STEP Founders Award in 2026 and prior honours from CPA Australia and the Tax Institute. A Fellow of CPA Australia and Chartered Accountants ANZ, he is also a Certified Tax Advisor and STEP practitioner, and holds leadership and advisory roles across key professional organisations.

Greg Russo is a highly experienced Victorian succession law solicitor with over 30 years’ practice. With a background in pure mathematics, he brings a structured, analytical approach to complex succession issues, including taxation, SMSFs, trusts and estate administration. Greg is known for clearly explaining sophisticated concepts, enabling clients to make informed decisions and take ownership of their planning. He develops tailored solutions to intricate succession challenges, drawing on decades of insight. Greg teaches both mathematics and law and is a regular presenter to legal and accounting professionals. An Accredited Specialist in Wills & Estates, he holds leadership roles with the Law Institute of Victoria, is a STEP member, and is recognised in Doyles Guide as a leading practitioner in his field.

Venue Access: Please note that as the Society's building at 28 Murray Street, Hobart was built in 1876 there is no lift or disability access to the downstairs training area. The Society's building at 56 Charles Street, Launceston was built in 1860 and there is no lift or disability access to the upstairs rooms.
