WAG Competition Squad Trial Hub Gymnastics
We’re opening up a limited number of places in our WAG Competition Squads, with opportunities for athletes new to competition as well as those ready to progress into higher levels.
📅 Trial Date: Monday 13th April
🕛 Time: 12:00pm – 2:00pm
💲 Cost: $15
💚 Who we’re looking for:
Level 2 (Entry Level Competition | typically 6–8 years)
Athletes who are starting to build strong foundations and are ready to take the next step. Ideally, they can:
• Hold a handstand and perform a cartwheel
• Move confidently through forward and backward rolls
• Perform a bridge
• Swing on both low and high bar
• Complete a pull over (assisted)
• Listen, focus, and respond positively to coaching and corrections
💛 Levels 3–4 (Development Squads | typically 7–9 years)
Athletes showing strength, body awareness and a readiness to progress. We’re looking for:
• Strong upper body (comfortable attempting push ups and chin ups)
• Ability to complete a pull over on bar (unassisted)
• Floor skills such as cartwheels, handstands, and bridge kickovers/back walkovers
• Either current flexibility (splits) or a willingness to work hard to develop it
• The ability to stay focused and take on feedback in a structured training environment
💙 Training Commitment:
Competition squad athletes train between 1–3 sessions per week, with total training hours ranging from 2–6 hours, depending on level.
💙 A note for families:
Athletes do not need to be current Hub members to trial. If your child is enthusiastic, coachable, and ready for a new challenge—we would love to see them.
At Hub, our competition program is about building strong, confident athletes who enjoy the process, support their teammates, and take pride in their progress.
