Webinar - AI, Scams and the Art of Manipulation: Practical Cyber Skills for Small Business
Cyber threats are evolving rapidly, with scammers increasingly using AI and sophisticated manipulation techniques to target small businesses. In this practical and engaging session, Luke will break down how these threats actually work, cutting through the technical jargon to give you clear, real-world strategies to recognise, prevent and respond to cyber risks.
Drawing on his extensive experience across defence, telecommunications and cyber risk consulting, Luke brings a unique ability to translate complex cyber security concepts into simple, actionable steps. You’ll gain insight into how scams and social engineering tactics are used to exploit trust, urgency and human behaviour, and, more importantly, how to stay one step ahead.
Designed specifically for small business owners and teams, this session will equip you with practical tools and confidence to protect your data, your people and your reputation in an increasingly digital world.
ABOUT LUKE:
Luke spent 9 years in the Royal Australian Air Force, working in cyber security, Intelligence and ICT systems administration. From there, he left to work with Telstra as a Security Analyst at their Defence Security Operations Centre in Canberra, keeping watch over the military’s Information and Communications Technology (ICT) systems, and responding to cyber security incidents. After his third daughter came along, he moved back to Adelaide to have better family support, taking a position with Deloitte as a specialist manager in Cyber Risk.
Working closely with stakeholders across the spectrum of government and industry including Energy Australia, RAA, Transport NSW, Brisbane City Council and The Department of Premier and Cabinet, Luke honed his ability to break down complex technical concepts into manageable, relevant packets of information applicable to his clients.
After years of seeing small businesses left behind when it came to cyber security, Luke founded Australian Cyber Defence to bring enterprise-level protection, education and support to the people who need it most. His goal is simple - deliver big business security at a small business price, giving every organisation clear, affordable and effective ways to protect their data, their people and their reputation.
