Discover the creative combination of drawing and watercolour in this engaging 2-hour Line & Wash workshop, where expressive ink lines meet soft, flowing colour. We’ll begin with simple sketches using fineliners, exploring how confident lines can define shapes, add structure, and bring personality to your artwork. Once your drawing is in place, you’ll layer it with luminous watercolour washes, allowing colour to flow around and through the ink to create vibrant, eye-catching results. Along the way, you’ll learn how to create expressive drawings with fineliners, enhance your line work with watercolour, and combine both mediums to build depth, contrast, and movement. We’ll also explore techniques such as hatching and stippling, simple observational sketching, and layering transparent washes while finding a balance between line and colour. This mixed media approach encourages play and experimentation while building confidence in both drawing and painting. By the end of the workshop, you’ll take home your own dynamic line and wash artwork and the skills to continue exploring this versatile style.Date
