Zachary Dunbar - 'Twilight'
Zachary Dunbar, piano
Built around the theme Twilight, this program explores music that reflects the subtle transition from light into ‘different light', a moment when reality loosens, forms soften, and edges dissolve. Spanning multiple musical eras, the selected works trace not only the interplay between darkness and light, but also the inward states twilight evokes: solitude, contemplation, traces of the past, and dreaming. Yet twilight is not solely hushed or elegiac. It can also suggest expectancy and renewal, as the fading of the past hints at the promise of new light.
