About
The Korumburra Community Development Association is proud to partner with the SGBCLLEN and the SGBC TSA to sponsor an evening for the students and parents/carers of the South Gippsland Bass Coast VET Cluster. The evening will include presentations from a Group Training Organisation on the benefits and potential pitfalls of applying for an apprenticeship and traineeship. We will also have a panel of apprentices and trainees who will share their experience and take questions from the floor. The key take aways from the evening include:
• What is an apprenticeship / traineeship
• Why undertake an apprenticeship / traineeship
• Term of apprenticeships
• Where to look for an apprenticeship
• Current skill shortage areas
• Off the job training requirements
• Expectations of employers
• Application process
• Resume do's and don't
• Tips for interviews
• Sign up process and do's and don'ts
• Incentives
• Pitfalls
A light supper and refreshments will be provided.
