Fanfare for a New Era marks a change in leadership, welcoming Squadron Leader Phil Martin into his new role as Commanding Officer and introducing Flying Officer Michael Potts as the Air Force Band's new Musical Director. The performance also proudly features Squadron Leader (Reserve) John Buckley, highlighting the strength, experience, and continuity of the Air Force musical community.
The program reflects both reflection and forward momentum. Jack Stamp’s Fanfare for a New Era opens the concert with bold optimism, setting the tone for an evening of energy and celebration. Johan de Meij’s At Kitty O’Shea’s brings warmth, character, and camaraderie.
Leonard Bernstein’s Symphonic Dances from West Side Story offers brilliance, drama, and contrast, while Franco Cesarini’s arrangement of Bulgarian Dances provides a thrilling and dynamic conclusion.
