This 8-week workshop is designed for young people from their mid-teens to early twenties and will be held every Wednesday evening from 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm, commencing on 29 July and culminating in an improvisation theatre performance on Friday 18 September.This workshop explores the fundamentals of acting alongside the spontaneity and playfulness of improvisation. Participants will build confidence, develop stage presence, strengthen listening and collaboration skills, and unlock their creative instincts in a supportive and energetic environment.
Through a series of practical exercises, games, and scene work, students will learn short-form and long-form improvisation techniques, along with core acting skills that translate across a range of stage and performance styles.
Ideal for beginners wanting to try something new, as well as experienced performers looking to refine their craft, Class Act offers a welcoming space to take creative risks, have fun, and grow in confidence as a performer.
Class Act is a dynamic and engaging acting and improvisation workshop led by experienced theatre-maker Barry Tudor. Drawing on a rich background that includes Four’s Company, NT TIE DIE, St Leonard’s VCE and IB Theatre Studies, and the direction of senior musicals and theatre productions, Barry brings both professional expertise and a strong passion for nurturing creativity.
