Some children have taken ill and while some parents seek answers from the doctor, others believe witchcraft is responsible. Under pressure for dancing in the woods and participating in witchcraft rituals, Abigail and other girls begin accusing citizens who they believe to be witches.
The Crucible lays bare the dangers of accusation and collective panic; it transforms historical events into a powerful exploration of paranoia, moral choice, and the fragile line between justice and vengeance. Blackwood Players will be setting this theatrical masterpiece in modern America where preachers still frighten congregations with tales of demons and witches and citizens can be gaoled because of false accusations.
