Mealworm workshop
About
We are inviting up to ten families to join with us to learn how to farm mealworms for wildlife in care. Sick or injured wildlife have a greater requirement for more energy than usual, and they can also have a decreased appetite, so what they eat really counts. This is why we feed them mealworms as they a highly nutritious food source. We are looking for kids who are interested in helping to grow mealworms that will be used by our wildlife carers and shelters. Everything you need to farm mealworms is provided to get you started. You will need to feed them a slice of carrot and potato on an ongoing basis. Each family will be able to take home one mealworm bucket. They don't smell or make any noise!
