A celebration of lights and lanterns.

Lets come together for the German tradition of the lantern walk. 

This event is a cooperation of the Goethe Society, Multilingual Families and the Rhein Donau Club.

We will be meeting from 5.15 pm at Marmion Reserve, Myaree, with the variety of lanterns the kids are bringing along. We will start to sing at 5.30 pm and than walk around the lake. 

To warm up and listen to the story of St. Martin we will be meeting back at the Rhein Donau Club.

According to legend, a soldier named Martin cut his red cloak in half to share with a beggar during a snowstorm and we will be showing a small play of that back in the club.

Lantern Arts and Crafts Activty prior to the walk.

It's this time of the year again and everyone gets excited for the traditional lantern walks around Perth.

We want to make St. Martin proud and build community leading up to the event.

Every year the same struggle, we don't have a lantern for the walk, oh yes, we definitely hear you!

On most occasions last year's handmade lantern hasn't survived, has been stepped on or accidentally eaten by the cat, haha.

Don't miss out on this wonderful craft activity and join likeminded parents bonding with the kids over our lantern designing project.

Therefore, we will put our love into creating sturdy & reusable lanterns to add diversity in colors and designs for our famous walk.

Please dress warm, we are crafting in the big beer hall under cover and need cozy clothing for our lantern walk.
